I love how garlands add color and texture to decoration. The combination of the tassels and wooden beads on this garland will add so much to a nursery, bedroom, mantle, or wherever you need a touch of style! Another bonus is that it is super easy to make!
Supplies:
Yarn- I used 2 different colors, but you do you!
Wooden beads- I have 3 different sizes that I bought on Amazon
Scissors
4″ book or piece of cardboard

Step 1:
Photo 1- begin by wrapping yarn around the book or cardboard. I wrapped my 36 times. The more you wrap it the thicker the tassel will be.
Step 2:
Photo 2- carefully slide the yarn off the book and then tie a 8″ piece of yarn tightly around the yarn at the top of the loop.

Step 3:
Take another 8″ piece of yarn close to the top of the tassel to create that little ball at the top. Cut the bottom of the loop of yarn so the ends are loose. The ends from the piece you used to tie the ball can hang down with the rest of the tassel. Trim the ends so they are even.

Step 4:
Repeat step 3 to make more tassels. I made 10; 5 of each color, but you depending on how long you want the garland, you can make more or less.
When all the tassels are finished, you are ready to start stringing the garland!

Step 5:
Cut a piece of yarn to make the garland. Make sure it’s plenty long, you can cut it shorter later. Tie a tassel onto the end of the yarn to make the start of your garland. Since I had 3 different sizes of beads, I did a small, medium, big, medium, small and then another tassel. You can do whatever sequence you like! I found it helpful to tie a straight pin onto the garland yarn. It was easier to feed the yarn through the beads.

When you are finished stringing the garland, knot the end several times, and then hang up your garland or lay it on the mantle or wherever you want it!
