Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add cream of tarter and beat on high while gradually adding the sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form. Then pipe small circles (about 1″ across) onto parchment paper.
Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes and then allow them to cool in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and put raspberry pie filling between two cookies. Add color to meringues with a kitchen blow torch.
Interestingly, both Damarus and Kinza experienced Bible School for the first time the end of last year and the beginning of this year. So as the younger sisters, we (Daisy and Ginger) decided to “interview” them about their time there. We will ask them a question and then Damarus and Kinza will each answer about their particular time.
1: What was one main highlight of Bible School?
Damarus: Building relationships with the girls and staff.
Kinza: Meal times were great! I loved just chilling and having good conversations. It was also great when in the evenings we would justhang out, play games and talk.
2: What was a important life lesson learned?
Damarus: How important it is to have heathy relationships and to be a safe person for other people to talk to.
Kinza: To speak truth actively. In other words, to stand up for what is right and to tell others the good new of Jesus.
3: How were you challenged?
Damarus: In having a deep and strong faith in Jesus no matter what.
Kinza: I was challenged to be myself and to be a good friend to anyone and everyone, yet to choose my close friends wisely.
4: Where there any negative aspects of Bible School?
Damarus: Not really.
Kinza: I don’t think so.
5: What was your favorite class and why?
Damarus: I enjoyed both of my classes greatly. The class “Developing the Servant”really helped me to look at my life more clearly and to see how past experiences have helped to shaped me for the good and bad.
Kinza: ” Life of Christ” The teacher did the best job of teaching! He knew what he was talking about. Also, if we want to be like Jesus, well, there is no better way then to study his life.
6: What was your biggest challenge at Bible School?
Damarus: The part of balancing study/work with hanging out with people.
Kinza: To learn to accept everyone and to love them just the way they are.
7: A particular strong point of each Bible School?
Damarus: The staff was so caring and did a wonderful job of taking time for each student!
Kinza: I would give the cooks a big pat on the back for all they did. The food was incredible! The folks there also kept us very challengedspiritually.
8: Favorite memory?
Damarus: One would be hanging out in the dorm with the girls and deans.
Kinza: Volleyball and Spikeball! We had great games filled with tense yet friendly competition!
Having our big sisters gone and then having them come back raving about Bible School has gotten us excited about going too! Both Damarus and Kinza are so glad they went and would encourage you all to go too. It is a good time to get to know more people, intensive time of Bible study and pursuing Jesus!
So as you may have picked up by now, this blog involves two mini photography businesses. This is something we four girls are passionate about, so we thought we would share a few favorite pictures from 2020! Enjoy scrolling through a display of one of our hobbies!

This month we have showed you various missions across the world through our willing guest writers. There are also many other ways that God is using humble people to share the Gospel. God has given each one of us a mission in this world, and I encourage you to follow God’s call on your life wherever He may lead you! Your mission field may not be in some far country, it might simply be reaching out to you neighbors and your community. God placed you where you are for a reason; don’t neglect His plan for you!
Wherever God places us, He blesses us. Sometimes those blessings aren’t where we expect them to be.
•being 1,680 miles from your family and home church = close friendships with Guatemalan sisters and other missionary ladies (who also don’t happen to live next door to mom or sis)
•toads and geckos living in your house = fewer mosquito bites
•many North American foods unavailable = learning to enjoy more Guatemalan foods
•cold showers = fastest way to cool off in the jungle
•learning Spanish at 25+ years of age = more sympathy for elementary students navigating the confusing world of English spelling and grammar rules
•being surrounded by Spanish = fresh determination to keep studying those pesky verb conjugations
•a drunk outside your window at 2:00 A.M.= a renewed realization of God’s constant protection and power to calm a wildly beating heart
•traveling by crowded chicken bus = a discovery that having your personal bubble quite deflated won’t harm you and you’ll likely experience an adventure
•faulty phone service = more time to interact with the people around you
•homesickness for your family = deeper dependence on God
Elsie serves in Guatemala with Mennonite Air Missions. She is a great friend of mine and I feel honored that she is willing to share her experiences in Guatemala with us! May you be richly blessed as you continue to serve the Lord, Elsie! -Ginger
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
We are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let's raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world.
